The situation:
You're on vacation and you lose your makeup bag, your wallet and your coupons. A kind stranger gives you $20 and directs you to the nearest drugstore with a note that reads: "Here, get some makeup to get you through the next few days." What do you buy?
Notes:
- You have all your skincare and makeup removers but no beauty tools, meaning no brushes!
- This nearest drugstore only carries mainstream brands but it does NOT carry elf. That would be too easy!
- No sales are going on and you don't have a rewards card.
- Plus side... no sales taxes
First I'll just say that if I lost my wallet while on vacation the LAST thing I would be worrying about is my makeup. Just saying! ;) But for the fun of it....
Here is what I would purchase....
Wet N Wild CoverAll Concealer $1.99
Rimmel Clean Finish Foundation $4.99
Wet N Wild Color Icon Blusher $2.99
Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio
(No eye primer needed... concealer will do in a pinch)
I would pick up two trios, one for a day time look, one for a night time.
2 @ $2.99 = $5.98
Wet N Wild Mega Protein Mascara $1.99
This is a total of $17.94. In the real world I would need to pay for taxes so I would most likely stop with those purchases and skip the lipstick. I'm not a big lipstick person anyways. However, If I was going somewhere special and felt like I needed lipstick I would try to find something that I might could use as a lipstick/blush deal.

This is fun! I would definitely have to get an EOS Lip Balm $3.49, Lash Blast Volume by Covergirl $8.99 (I think?..), and maybe some type of foundation but I haven't used drugstore foundation in a long time. Hmm seems I would need a lot more than $20 uh oh ;)

ReplyDeleteAwesome post. In New Zealand we wouldn't be able to get those make-up products for under $20. The Rimmel foundation is $20 alone. I think I would get a cheap concealer and lipgloss :)

Very interesting :) I would probably get a similar foundation and concealer, black eyeliner, pink lipgloss mascara and a golden or coppery eyeshadow... hopefully I'd have enough!
ReplyDeleteThis is intersting, I can live with just eyeshadow, and mascara, and pretty much do. I would use the darker color eyeshadow as eye liner. Very interesting. Found you via 'Mingle With Us' blog hop.

Haha! Yeah, I would definitely not be worried about my makeup if I had lost it on vacation. It would suck but I would be more worried about my wallet and how I was going to pay for a place to sleep, food to eat, or a way to get home.
